International Trade Fair: Odisha Pavilion is the first choice of all.

Today was the eighth day of the India International Trade Fair, which was inaugurated on the last 14th. Since the fair has been opened to the public since yesterday after the commercial day, a heavy crowd has been seen in the Odisha pavilion including the Pragat Maidan area. It has become everyone’s first choice for the beautiful decoration of Odisha Mandap.

The fine and beautiful work of construction of Odisha Pavilion is dazzling everyone. Especially, in the middle of the pavilion, the boats and arks bearing the glorious memory of the ancient maritime tradition of Keeling, the statues of Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra installed inside the pavilion and the corner wheel and corner temple built on the outer side have become a selfie point for everyone.

Shri Sushil Kumar Lohani, Chief Administrative Secretary, Panchayatiraj and Drinking Water Department, Government of Odisha yesterday visited the Odisha Pavilion and discussed with the officials in charge of the stalls and also thanked the designers and fabricators of the Odisha Pavilion for matching the theme of the current India International Trade Fair.

Ormas and Mission Shakti’s stalls in the pavilion offer a variety of handicrafts and tasar garments made by women self-help groups and rural artisans, while Bayonika’s stall offers handicrafts by weavers from Odisha and Utkalika’s stall offers Raghurajpur paintings, Cuttack silver silk, Pipili Chandua, wood and stone work.

Similarly, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment will sell organic agricultural products of millet and kandhamal at stalls, MSMEs. The stalls offer various handicrafts, including palm sugar and jaggery, while the stall of the Tribal Development Department has Idtil paintings of Lanjia Saura and various handicrafts made from rice. Many tourists from the country and abroad are coming to the tourism department stall and gaining knowledge about the various tourist attractions and eco-retreats of Odisha.

In the center of the pavilion, the Dobvedi Mandap, built on the deck of the Oriya Sadhabapua’s ornate boat, is showing a live demo of making the Patluga being woven for Sreejgannath in Cruelty Free Karuna Siá, as well as a live demo of Utkal handicrafts. Like the inner side of the pavilion, the outer side is made in the style of angular temple architecture, there are all the handlooms made in Odisha and the masks used in the Puri Sahiyat are decorated. All the stalls of the pavilion are painted in the Raghurajpur Pattchitra art that adorns Odisha’s temples.

Odisha’s Honorable Minister of Social Security and Disability Empowerment, Public Enterprises and Science and Technology Mr. Ashok Chandra Panda inaugurated this magnificent Odisha Pavilion on the 14th and on the 19th Odisha State Day celebrations, the Honorable Odisha Government’s Panchayatiraj and Drinking Water, Forestry, Environment and Climate Change. And Information and Public Relations Minister Mr. Pradeep Kumar Amat attended as the chief guest. On the occasion of Odisha State Day, the India International Trade Fair special issue of Uttar Pradesh and Odisha Revue was launched.

Later, Birli dance of Dharua tribe was performed by artistes of Odisha Utkal College of Music, Bhubaneswar, and Dalkhai dance was performed by artistes of Baul Juppa Cultural Institute, Bargad. Abhili became famous for the song Harhar Shambhu in the country and abroad. Panda’s music enchanted everyone. Till date more than 70 thousand visitors have come to Odisha pavilion and bought their favorite products while the business has been done around 30 lakh rupees.
