Out of 97 Central Schools and Neboday Schools in Odisha, about 37 Central Schools and 26 Neboday Schools have been included as PM-Shri Schools. About 800 government schools in Odisha will be developed into PM Shri schools and will receive more than 1600 crore rupees in 5 years.

Shri Pradhan said that PM Shri Yojana was launched on 2022 September 7 with the aim of establishing more than 14 thousand 500 Prime Minister Schools for Rising India or PM Shri Schools across the country with the idea of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an expenditure of 28 thousand crore rupees. In the first phase, 6,500 schools have been selected and soon another 4,000 schools will be selected in the second phase.

Today, out of 97 central schools and neboday schools in Odisha, about 63 and 37 central schools and 26 neboday schools have been included as PM-Shri schools from today. For the year 2023-24, around Rs.50.8 crores have been sanctioned for these schools, out of which Rs.12.7 crores have been disbursed to these schools in the first installment. A total of Rs 7.27 crore will be spent on 37 central schools and Rs 5.43 crore will be spent on 26 new schools.

PM Shri Yojana to increase the ability of children and increase their scientific attitude and to increase creativity in arts, literature and science and to increase the ability of teachers in all aspects. These schools will reflect the curriculum and teaching methods recommended by the National Education Policy, and enhance the skills of teachers in one school.

States are required to send the number of schools to the Center on a competitive basis. But the Odisha government has not made an MoU for PM Shri. For this, letters have been written personally 3 times in the last 1 year. For one reason or another, Odisha is not implementing this scheme. One or two states are not implementing the scheme for political purposes. He thinks that the Odisha government will not have any political motive in it like the other states.

In this context, the Union Minister once again requested the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to implement the Prime Minister’s ambitious scheme PM Shri Yojana in Odisha government schools. PM Shri Yojana Government of Odisha implements two writing schools in every block and urban area of Odisha to be developed into PM Shri Schools. In one school, the Central Government will undertake a grant of Rs 2 crore. About 800 government schools in Odisha will be developed into PM Shri schools and will receive more than 1600 crore rupees in 5 years.

Shri Pradhan said that Odisha has a total of 62,291 schools and the total number of students is 76 lakh. There are 49,072 government schools and the number of students is 53 lakh. The number of students studying in higher education is 11 lakh. Overall, Odia children should be prepared for global leadership. Children will be made from Odisha who conquered the world.

It should not be selective and discriminatory. Chief Minister consider this with compassion. Politics may be in the way. Competition may be on its way. But everyone needs to take responsibility to create their own future for the 1 crore Oriya children. I believe that Odisha government will take care of it.

To achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047, our education sector needs to move forward. Especially rural children should be educated in the 21st century to prepare them for the future.
