BJP and Congress have claimed to form their own governments.
While the process of voting in 199 out of 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan is over, now the fate of all the candidates is sealed in the EVMs. Election results are coming on December 3. Both the BJP and the Congress have claimed to form their own governments.
However, after the polls, there is excitement in the BJP camp. In fact, the BJP has returned to power whenever the voter turnout has increased in the state as compared to previous elections. On the other hand, Congress has benefited when voter turnout has declined. Such a trend has been seen in the state for the last 20 years and the government is changing every 5 years.
However, this time polling has ended in 199 seats for the Rajasthan assembly elections. Election to one seat has been postponed due to the death of a candidate. According to the Election Commission, 0.9 percent more votes have been cast this time. A total of 74.96 percent voting has been done in the state. Interestingly, the Congress government was formed in the last election when the vote percentage decreased, while the BJP governments was formed in 2013 when it increased.
In the 1998 elections, the voter turnout was 63.39 percent and the Congress government was formed. In the 2003 elections, the voter turnout increased by 3.79 percent and the BJP came to power. Basundhara Raje took oath as Chief Minister for the first time.
In the 2013 elections, it once again got a majority of 8.79 percent votes and formed the BJP government. In the 2018 elections, the voter turnout was less than 0.98 percent and the Congress came to power Now once again the voting percentage has increased.
