Regional Museum of Natural History. Located near Acharya Bihar Street on Secretariat Marg in Bhubaneswar. The museum, under the Union Ministry of Forests and Environment, has a collection of flora, fauna, geography of Odisha and eastern India. Every corner in the gallery of the museum has a message on conservation of nature and natural resources. Here students are made aware of nature and animal conservation. The skeleton of the Balin species exhibited here is the largest in any museum in India. Open every day of the week except Monday from 10 am to 5 pm.

Odisha Naubanizya Museum at Jobra tells the story of ancient Odisha Naubanizya. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the museum on April 1, 2013. Later, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the 150 square feet aquarium and 48-seat 3D cinema hall on the premises of the museum. There are a total of 13 galleries here. Various products of Odisha industry are displayed in it. On days other than Mondays, visitors are given the opportunity to travel around the museum by purchasing a ticket. The Irish started a shipbuilding factory here in 1869. At that time, a ship was plying from Cuttack to Calcutta via Chandbali.

The tribal museum at Koraput was inaugurated on 26th January 1992. Stone works, iron sculptures, iron objects, gold ornaments, terracotta, woodwork, weapons, tribal movement, besbhusa, many related items are kept here. In addition, the sequence of development of human civilization is shown through photographs. This museum has been built especially on the tribal people’s life, behavior and culture. Many tourists from the state and outside the state come here to learn a lot about tribal traditions and customs. The museum is managed by the Shabar Shrine Management Committee.

Konark Archaeological Survey Museum is about 400 meters away from Konark Sun Temple. It is important to preserve the history and heritage of the Sun Temple. The museum was inaugurated on 30th October 1968 by the then Education Minister Tribune Sen. In this museum, 1760 ancient kirtajis are stored in the air-conditioned room. The museum is open for tourists and visitors from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm every day except Friday.

Odisha State Museum is located in Bhubaneswar. It was first established in 1932 in the premises of Ravenshaw College, Cuttack. Later in 1960, it was shifted to the new building and its present premises by the then President Rajendra Prasad. The museum is divided into 11 sections. Archaeology, numismatics, archaeology, mining and geology, natural history, arts and crafts, contemporary art, portraits, anthropology and palmistry are housed here. The Department of Culture of Odisha Government has its administrative responsibility. The museum was founded in 1932 by William Jones, Ghunsham Das, NC. Banerjee, started with the efforts of Harakrishna Mahatab Major.
